Autumn is here. My neighbor waves from her kitchen window, the edges of which are softened with condensation. A reminder of this morning’s rain. She arranges flowers over the sink, the last from her garden. With the cold air coming, the fresh flowers in her yard will wilt and grey and disappear all together. I am suddenly sad that September had ushered in colder weather so quickly. But then I remember the golden leaves that pile onto the soil, and then snow twinkling over her topiaries. And the little bit of joy I feel as she returns to her garden each spring with an apron and pink gardening gloves, and how, as I make my tea in the kitchen in the morning, I’ll look out onto her garden at the budding flowers growing. How lucky am I that I get to see the seasons change from my little kitchen window? How lucky are we that autumn has come for us to start over again?

The Wardrobe is a place to store beautiful things. Autumn is one of mine.

Some things that make fall extra special. Autumn has inspired me to stay on top of filling out my calendar and day planner. I started wearing my watch again. The Fossil watch ring actually made me gasp! Imagine someone asking you for the time (okay, let’s be real, nobody does that anymore), and you whip out your ring finger! I own this Amazon scarf, and it’s incredibly soft and the perfect weight for chilly morning walks. This “Lucky You” card print is going to hang near my kitchen window, of course. Lucky me!
